What does the verb to impute mean?

기본적인 정의는 무엇을 다른 이에게 양도하는 것이다.

A basic definition is, to assign something to another.

거래 계정에 있어서, 누군가가 신용이나 빚을 다른 계정에 전가하거나 양도하는 것이다.

In accounting, someone can impute or assign a credit or debit to an account.

사회적 관계성에 있어서는, 누군가가 (자신의) 잘못된 동기를 다른 이의 행동에 (책임을) 전가하거나 부여하는 것이다.

In social interaction, someone can impute or assign false motives to someone’s actions.

신학적 의미에 있어서는, 역사적으로 볼 때 전가라는 것은 하나님께서 죄를 어떻게 양도하였는가를 설명하기 위한 용도로 사용되어왔다.

In theological terms, to impute has historically been a term employed to explain how God assigns guilt,

예를 들어서, 레위기 17장 4절에서는, 하나님께서 성막에서 요구되는 희생을 드리지 않는 사람에게 피흘리는 죄를 전가시켰다는 것을 알 수 있다.
